Our properties in NE Worth County Missouri were hit by EHD in 2012. It was one of the most severe outbreaks the whitetail community has ever encountered. Now, Five (as of 2017) years later, the herd is recovering nicely. While we have always held the majority of our acreage as bow only (Archery Only) land, we did, prior to the outbreak, offer rifle hunts.
While we may get back into inclusion of rifle at some point in the future, currently, we do NOT offer rifle hunts as of the 2016-2017 season. It is back under consideration for the 2017-2018 season. Keep checking back for updates. However, from a land managers point of view, It is literally the worst management tool in existence for whitetails and as the herd recovers, we assess the inclusion of the season on a year by year basis.
In 2016 we began selling bow hunts during the rifle season. We will continue this endeavor again in 2017 as we had excellent opportunity rates. Keep in mind, our farms are set up for bow hunting, including all the stand sites. You have a better opportunity with us, using a bow, during rifle season, than most other places with your rifle.
